Young Chatham Writer Tweets Her Way To Success

A year ago, Elizabeth Rudnick of Chatham wrote Tweet Heart {A novel in emails, blogsandtweets}” (Hyperion, 2010).

According to Amazon.com,

“Hinged on a case of misrepresented online identity, this comfortably predictable, light-as-air debut—written entirely in squeaky-clean tweets interrupted by occasional e-mail messages, blog posts, or high-school newspaper advice columns—takes a quartet of prep-school juniors from friendship to coupledom. The crisis is sparked by the misguided effort of Will (WiseOneWP) to lighten the mood of his shy, secret crush on Claire (ClaireRBear) by sending her tweets from, supposedly, her secret crush, jock-in-chief JD. Complications ensue when Claire actually catches JD’s eye, and much to Will’s dismay, JD asks her out.”

Rudnick wrote Tweetheart every evening while working full time for Disney Press in N.Y.C. After a book tour last year, she decided to leave publishing and write full time. She moved into her parents home in Chatham with her dog.

With nearly a full year of Chatham under her belt, “I couldn’t be happier with the decision” to leave New York City, Rudnick says. “I have so much inspiration here.”
